Getting started
What is a Board, and what is a Pad?
A Board is a canvas you can pan and zoom. Each circle on it is a Pad, and each Pad holds one sound of 1 to 5 seconds. You can move, resize and recolour Pads to arrange them however you like.
How do I stop everything at once?
Use Stop all in the top bar. It stops every Pad you’re playing or looping.
Can other people hear what I’m playing?
No. Playback happens only on your device, so everyone on a Board can listen to different Pads at the same time. Playing together, where everyone hears the same Pads, is coming soon.
Recording
My browser won’t let me record
The first time you record, your browser asks to use the microphone. If you said no, open your browser’s site settings for Hueeeeek, allow the microphone, and reload the page. No microphone at all? Right-click your Pad and choose Use a sound file… to fill it from an MP3, WAV or M4A instead.
How long can a sound be?
Between 1 and 5 seconds. Recording starts after a 3-2-1 count-in (press Esc to cancel it), stops by itself at 5 seconds, and you can stop it yourself once 1 second has passed. A sound file shorter than 1 second is refused, and a longer one keeps its first 5 seconds.
Can I record into someone else’s Pad?
No. Only the person who placed a Pad can record into it, re-record it or erase it. Anyone who can edit the Board can still move, resize and recolour it.
I erased a sound by mistake
Erasing a recording can’t be undone. Deleting a whole Pad can: while you’re still on the Board, press ⌘Z or Ctrl+Z and it comes back with its sound.
Public boards and Likes
A public Board can be opened and played by anyone, signed in or not, and is listed in Popular boards. Popular is ranked by Likes, with recent Likes counting most, and is updated hourly. If you make a Board private, it keeps its Likes and leaves Popular. To report a Pad on a public Board, right-click it and choose Report; a person reviews every report.
On your phone
You can open and play any Board you have access to: tap to play, double-tap to loop, and Like public Boards. Placing, recording and moving Pads works on a computer. The Hueeeeek iPhone app is separate and doesn’t share an account with the website.
Your account
Change your display name and colour in Account settings; your handle stays as it is. A new colour applies to Pads you place from then on. Account settings also shows how many of your 100 daily recordings you’ve used; the count resets at midnight UTC. Deleting your account removes every Pad you placed, on every Board, and every Board you own.
